To get people off of fake news, we have to catch them in the act. So we created a fake sweepstake that would attract a handful of gullible people and rewarding them with a years subscription to The Times and The Sunday Times — and one for a friend.
We hope to generate buzz to get others to want
to pay for credible news, and those who received
the free subscriptions will continue paying after
their full year.
